Strategist
Works out what the business needs from content, who it has to reach and what will make them act. Everything else is built on this.
SCNDL is a creative studio for founders and business owners, from launch day to year ten. We plan, direct and produce your content, and build every piece of it around what grows the business.
Running a business, according to the internet:
Works out what the business needs from content, who it has to reach and what will make them act. Everything else is built on this.
Turns the strategy into ideas people want to watch, then keeps every shoot, post and page true to them.
Decides how it all looks, frame by frame, so you look like one brand wherever someone finds you.
Plans the shoot, books the crew and gets it edited and out the door. You turn up for the parts only you can do.
All four work from the same brief: what will actually grow the business.
We start where your accountant would: what you sell, who buys it, what each customer is worth and where the growth is hiding. Not trading yet? Then we start with who’ll buy first. The creative comes after that, and it’s sharper for it.
Day one, done properly.
Starting a business or bringing a new brand to market? We take it from a name to its first customers: the identity, the website, the launch films and a plan for the first ninety days.
Know why before you post.
Who you’re talking to, what makes them buy, what to make, where to put it and how we’ll know it’s working.
Shot, cut and out the door.
Ideas, scripts, shoots and edits for social, video and ads. We direct it and produce it. You approve it and get on with your day.
Your best salesperson, open all night.
A site that says what you do in plain words and makes it easy to buy or get in touch. Then everything around it: search, socials and the places people check before they trust you.
One look, everywhere.
A name, a look and a voice that hold together, whether they’re on a van, a reel or an invoice.
Five steps from the first conversation to work people talk about. The picture gets clearer at each one.
The first conversation is about the business, or the one you’re about to start. What do you need this year: more people knowing your name, more trust, more enquiries, first sales or customers coming back? And what was going on for your last ten customers in the week before they found you?
You get a brief with a number in it.
Before we have opinions, we look. Your competitors, what people search for, the conversations in your corner of the internet and the ads already running in your category.
You get a report that says what to do, with the evidence.
Who it’s for, the moments that make them act, what to say and where to say it. One document, and you’ll actually open it again.
You get a content strategy.
Lots of ideas, then a hard edit. Only the ones that serve the strategy and clear our bar get made.
You get a shortlist worth making.
We produce it, put it out and track it against the number from the first conversation. Then we do more of what worked.
You get the work, and an audience that’s paying attention.

Our closest way of working
We come on board with the business and stay. Think of us as the part of your team that owns growth: we sit in on the planning, we know the numbers and we bring the people to carry it out.
From the brand at the top to the last post at the bottom, we work on all of it, from launch day onwards, and keep adjusting as the business grows.
Founder
Josh has worked across YouTube, Google and Sony, where nobody gets attention by accident. He believes a business needs a reason for people to care long before it needs more content. SCNDL exists to find it.
You work with him directly, from the first sit-down to the final cut. Expect him to ask about your last ten customers before he asks about your logo.

Source & Sip is instant coffee with collagen, made from three ingredients: coffee, collagen peptides and vitamin C. When we started it had no audience, no website and no content. Our job was to launch it.
The collagen category takes itself very seriously, and its loudest complaint has nothing to do with taste or price. It’s subscriptions that are hard to cancel. There was room for a brand that sounds like a person.
The launch strategy, the website, the art direction and the social launch, including the two films below.
The Lead-In lets vinyl collectors log the records they own, see what they’re worth by pressing and grade, and read about the albums. A paid membership and a marketplace are on the way. Before deciding what to make, they wanted to know where collectors actually spend their attention.
Collectors talk far less about cataloguing than you’d think. The attention goes to turntables, record shops and how a collection looks on the shelf. Shelf tours, hauls and now-spinning clips were the best-performing posts in the category by a long way.
We work with The Lead-In as a growth partner. That covers the business strategy behind the membership and the marketplace, research across search, social and competitors in the UK and US, and a content strategy that starts where collectors already are.
Elecrite are heating engineers. Their old website didn’t explain what they do or make it easy to get in touch.
A new site rebuilt from their own content in plain language, with a simple enquiry form and a radiator in the hero that warms up as you move across it.
